The heavenly optimist

sees a silver lining

while others

are whining

about their fate

 

too bad

it's too late

to turn the clocks

back now

 

The heavenly optimist

would gently

no quietly, insist

everything will be fine

 

so we press in

one more time

 

stand in line

for our blessing

dressing

down 

the frown

that longs to creep

across our brow

 

now

 

the heavenly optimist

sees beyond the grave

to wave

goodbye to yesterday

and hail the dawning

over a nation

the anthem awning

of heaven's decree

 

that previously

lost its way

 

we sway

pray

 

no whining

just a 

silver lining

 

of 

Hope
